Panels

Layers panel, Properties, History, Color, Character, Paragraph, and menu bar.

Menu Bar

The menu bar at the top of the editor provides access to all commands organized in dropdown menus. Click a menu name to open it, then hover over other menu names to switch between them.

Layers Panel

The Layers panel shows the document layer stack and provides controls for managing layers. It is the most frequently used panel.

  • Layer list: Shows all layers with thumbnails, names, visibility icons.
  • Blend mode dropdown: Change how the selected layer composites.
  • Opacity slider: Control layer transparency (0-100%).
  • Lock buttons: Lock transparency, pixels, position, or all.
  • Action buttons: New layer, new group, add mask, add effect, delete.

Properties Panel

Shows editable properties for the currently selected layer. The contents change based on the layer type:

  • Pixel layers: Width, height, position, name.
  • Text layers: Font, size, color, alignment, leading, tracking.
  • Shape layers: Fill, stroke, corner radius, dimensions.
  • Adjustment layers: The adjustment controls (Levels sliders, Curves graph, etc.).

History Panel

The History panel shows a chronological list of all editing actions. Click any entry to jump to that state (undo/redo).

  • Each action is listed with a descriptive name.
  • Click an earlier entry to undo to that point.
  • Click a later entry (grayed out) to redo.
  • The current state is highlighted.

Color Panel

A compact panel for selecting foreground and background colors with HSB or RGB sliders. Includes color swatches for quick access.

Character Panel

Detailed typographic controls for text layers: font family, style, size, leading, tracking, kerning, color, and anti-aliasing mode.

Paragraph Panel

Paragraph formatting for text layers: alignment (left, center, right, justify), indentation, and paragraph spacing.

Context Menu

Right-click on the canvas to access a context menu with quick actions relevant to the current tool and selection state.

Preferences

Configure editor preferences including grid settings, guide colors, performance options, and interface preferences.

Tip:Panels can be docked, undocked, and rearranged. Drag a panel tab to move it to a different panel group.
